Kenny announced to me a few weeks ago that he already had my gift picked out. He gave me a hint and said it was something I've wanted ever since he's known me. This confused me because I really couldn't think of anything in particular that I wanted, especially for seven years!
This morning when the mailman was stuffing the boxes in front of our house, Kenny went out to check the mail for my gift, but came back empty-handed. He said he had a back up plan if it didn't show up so he came into the living room and had a folded piece of paper in his hand.
This is how our conversation went:
K: So your gift is something personal.
H: ok...
K: and not really something for you...
H: Hmm, ok...
(We're watching Live with Kelly and Michael)
K:What's Michael?
H: a football player. Are we going to a football game?
K: He's a football player, yes, but what color is he?
H: black.
K: yeah, and what can I never give you?
H: (getting a little scared now because I always wanted a little black baby)
(Kenny unfolds his paper...)
I am sponsoring a little guy named Arlens from Haiti. Kenny picked him because he thought I'd think he's cute (which is so true) and he lives in Haiti which is becoming a special place to us because our Church does a lot of mission work in that Country and Kenny is going there next month for a week.
The package didn't arrive yet, but I was excited to read a little about him from his bio. When the package arrives we can exchange letters and have some communication.
Thanks, Babe for such a special and thoughtful gift. I love it!
