Kara Goucher Olympic Marathon

I don't really know how to say this, especially during the Olympics, but I am partially rooting for the USA. Hear me out. It's Kara Goucher. I am rooting for Canadians for everything else in the Olympics, just not the marathon. I have to stay true to my running idol and mentor.

I really look up to Kara for inspiration and find her to be amazing at what she does. She's worked so hard and made a great comeback after having her little baby Colt. Her husband Adam updated her training on his blog; Run the Edge: Road to London  His updates proved her hard work and little tid bits of their private life together. They have a sweet little family.

My cousin and I have a little rivalry. She favors Shalane Flanagan and I'm for Kara. They trained together in Mammoth Lakes earlier this year and are good friends. It's going to make the marathon that much more fun to watch, knowing that Rach is rooting for her girl and me for mine. P.S. I'm sure Rach is rooting for Canadians in every other sport, too. I must say that the USA has captivated both of us with their running heros!

I can't wait for August 5th (tomorrow) for the marathon! Someone hinted to me that the marathon might be the most boring sport in the summer Olympics. I disagree. Go Kara!

Now, to Canada... Just an hour away from us we have an incredible sprinter. She is the Canadian 400m champion of 2011 and is at the London Olympics this year! She finished third in her race and has been advanced to the semi-finals! Wahooo!
