Rach, Dan and I ran the Not-Since-Moses 5k race and Katie was our official photographer. I loved doing this race because it was purely for fun and not for time. There is something way more fun about just running a race and not trying to beat a time you previously had.
Here's how my day went:
4:30 AM: alarm. Seriously?! Who thought of this idea anyway?
5:03-6:00 AM: listened to the modern rock station really loudly and sang along (until I passed a car...)
6:15-7:10 AM: Met Rach in Truro and hopped in with her. Drove to Five Islands (~1hr away)
7:20 ish: Met Dan and Katie at a (really local) restaurant and headed down to the beach
7:20-11:00 ish: Race stuff and free food.
...after getting splashed with mud and water by Dan, here we are coming up to the finish line:
We all finished together!

The run was muddy and wet. The rocks out further on the run were very slippery with seaweed and other sea things. Some parts of the mud sucked your foot right in and other parts of the run were a perfectly flat and packed-down sand. Warning: this run allows for lots of laughs and fun ;)
11:00-3:00: Drove to a local market and ate delicious fish and chips
Like I said, what a great weekend. Thank you, friends:)

DeleteSo so cool. That race looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I laughed when I saw the question you asked yourself at 4:30am, because my bf and I have a running joke: we always say to each other "whose idea WAS this" during the hard part of a race or early in the morning before a race (of course it was ours) ;-)
haha:) 4:30 just seemed so early, but my coffee put everything into perspective
