07/07/07 = 5 years!

Kenny and I are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. That sounds soo crazy to me, how have we been married for 5 years already?

When I thought about a 5 year anniversary I always pictured a trip to Paris or backpacking through Europe, but for ours we're sticking around here. I'm looking forward to it, we're heading to a hotel tonight, heading to our favorite restaurant and going to a movie and that's what's planned so far.

P.S. Hotwire is the best thing ever. It chose the best hotel in the city for us. Thanks!

Last night we went downtown to the Lebanese Festival. I've been wanting to go to this for 4 years now and for some reason I just never make it there. July 6th was my time to go and check it out.
Their pride is their food and do they ever make amazing food. Lebanese food is one of my favorites; tabouli, hummus, grape leaves and my all time favorite is falafels. We split a plate because we umm, had already eaten. We'll call it my second supper because I ate 87.8% of it. Kenny didn't stand a chance with sharing a plate with me.

To order food, you buy a food ticket and then go order it inside where the kitchen is. It was a really efficient way to order the food!

The girl in front of us was googling everything on the menu. That's what I do when I go for sushi, I still don't know half of what's on the menu. Thank you, google.
 Dancers.
Veggie Platter with a pita on the side. Seriously, this was so authentic and delicious.

My favorite ice cream shop was close to the festival so we went to see if it was open. They have wierd hours; closed on Mondays and close pretty early. They closed at 8 and we got there at 7:55. Phew.
Kenny's cone looks really disfunctional, but it worked. Bottom layer was banana cardamom (basically banana bread icecream), mixed berry sorbet and the top layer was raspberry sorbet.
I picked Mexican chocolate ice cream, it's my favorite flavor and it's just the best.
Kenny thinks the shop is very hipster-ish, but I know he secretly loves the ice cream just as much as I do.
P.S I swear my hand is really not that big.

Is it wierd that I prefer these styrofoam-type cones to freshly made waffle cones?

Our anniversary is off to a great start. After all that food last night a gym date was in order. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical which equaled 6 miles and then I did this 20 minute HIIT on the treadmill:

Have a good weekend!
